Design
Cobalt Web Design (CWD) has a mission to uphold the spirit of "access for all" that the World Wide Web is supposed to embody.

It is CWD's belief that Web sites should not be targetted at subsets of the "Web surfer" population.

This means that CWD does not lock the viewer into an one browser. When you are viewing a CWD-written Web page, you will not be told to go and download a different browser, nor will you be expected to go and get a plug-in or control in order to view the page.

Any "eye-candy" or bells and whistles are merely extras to be enjoyed by those that can, but CWD's aim is that inability to see such extras does not impact on the usability of the page.

To this end, CWD does not tend to use ShockWave, ActiveX or Java applets in Web pages that it writes. When frames are used, a non-frames alternative is always provided. Simple JavaScript is used at times to provide "active" buttons, and tables are often used for page formatting.

Affordability
Cobalt Web Design aims to provide a cheap, affordable service while maintaining high standards of design and implementation. Though CWD Web pages may not be dripping with flashy graphics, they provide a visitor-friendly interface that will help those viewing your Web pages find the information they want, all at a fraction of the cost of most Web design services.

There are a lot of chancers around at the moment, cashing-in on the WWW explosion, and charging outrageous amounts for typing up a few pages of text and scanning a couple of photos. CWD is not like that. CWD is dedicated to looking after the "little guy" who has little or no experience of Web authoring and few resources to throw in that direction.

The Internet was built upon a spirit of co-operation, not selfishness, and it is CWD's view that the WWW should embrace that spirit.
